Naupygus bucklandi is a very rare fish from the London Clay with only a few specimens known. The best example is on display in the Oxford University Museum and showcases exceptional preservation.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
  • Very flat, slightly-angled top of skull (1)
  • Two parallel ridges with significant striations (2)
  • Two mirrored depressions near the epiotic (3) 
  • Deep recesses at the front of the ethmoid (4)
