Aulopopsis egertoni

Species:          egertoni (Casier 1966)

Aulopopsis egertoni is the second member of the Aulopidae family representing Flagfins that can be found in the London Clay formation. This is similarly incredibly rare to find however and represented by very few specimens. 

Distinguishing Characteristics:
  • No sclerotic ossicle present on this specimen but there is in Aulopopsis depressifrons (1)
  • Distinctive radiating striations on cranium (2)
  • Robust teeth on lower jaw (3)
